I am LAcoulmnist. I cherish reading, writing and observing curiously. The mechanics and dynamism of human nature have always intrigued me. I love gossip, I love drama in life; some harmless drama, I enjoy a good laugh, I can relate to diverse jokes because in my opinion they are the best ice breakers and create lasting bonds and friendships. I love movies, dinning at restaurants and coffee shops because they teach about human nature a lot just by sheer scrutiny. I live in a world where many colors and creeds of humanity interact on daily basis and I see the constant metamorphosis that our society and lives go through each single day. Learning about it is like catching a butterfly. I try but mostly don’t succeed. It’s like, I want to know, but I cannot because there is always more to learn. The capacity of the human mind that we utilize in a lifetime, is limited. Hence, we live a limited life. The question is why? So far, I have deduced that we all will always be limited individually but the collectively we can find most of the answers, if not all. We do, and we always have, and it is still a work in progress. Even the idea of individual succeeds only after the collective has agreed upon some ever present and some mutually established ground rules. Rules are but not limited to how the nature encompasses all and the limits it adheres to, laws of Physics, Thermodynamics, Biology, Chemistry etc. Then there are manmade rules, set of assumptions and laws such as theory of evolution, creationism, morality which are the weakest, have missing links and need constant upkeep and changing all the time.

I grew up in a middle-class family in India and I have been living in United States for more than 16 years. I consider myself a human being first and citizen of the world later. I am also aware of the political, economic and racial ground realities at the same time. I have been told to have strong opinions and initially, I did not understand what that meant?  Now I do. Yes, I have my perspective but then we all do, but I present my case strongly and those who disagree and cannot back their argument call my opinions strong. I am in my late 30’s and for little over a decade, I have preferred reading and learning over economic endeavors. Now I am embarking on a new journey of thinking and writing. I choose not to write love stories even though I have as much capacity to love and write about it as all of you. I cannot write thrillers because I’m not much of a plotter. Science fiction is a realm that I love but I am weak on the technical details. But I do fantasize about a world where the quality of life would be better for all people, so I have decided to make my case for what needs to be done and how we may get there.

For that purpose, I have decided to start writing this blog. I intend for my word to reach out to the populace no matter the origin, socio-economic class, gender, nationality or pursuit in life. I intend to communicate the fact we all share living space and get affected by each other’s problems and we are the only ones who can help ourselves in time of need and peace alike. I thank countless rock-ribbed men and women who came before me and made the world progress to the point that I can sit in my room and expect my word to reach fellow humans all around the world.

I am neither a left winger nor a right winger and I am definitely not a centrist. I don’t even know how that can apply to anyone of us. Life is full of paradoxes and ironies and one cannot identify oneself with left, right or center markers. I am a human and I change my sides depending on understanding of the issue at a given time. I may seem a conservative on some issues and I may seem progressive on other issues and sometimes, I cannot even decide due to lack of information, but I mean well for all of us. I  definitely appreciate honesty, transparency of behavior and general truthfulness. Fixing the world’s problems may be an almost impossible, herculean task of Sisyphean nature, but then anyone can take up the task where completion is guaranteed but not me. I have come to understand that Life is a learning experience, and we all are bound to make mistakes. Therefore, please excuse my mistakes and enjoy reading and working towards a dream that does need constant work, indomitable will and many generations to realize. Now that’s what I call fun.

DISCLAIMER:  I am a common man. I do not make news. I am not a trained writer. English is not my native tongue and my proficiency in language and vocabulary is at best mediocre. As an individual my means are limited. Therefore, even to make my point, I need the machinery. Or what we call the system.  The state, its enemies and media etc. For the meek and the simpleminded, I would use terms such as countries, religious preference, statistical data, economy, items taken from the managed news to present my opinion.
